Trees

I live in the beautiful hills of the Finger Lakes, an idyllic piece of New York that looks a lot like Ireland or the Scottish Highlands.  Although our hills are not green for as many months a year as in Celtic lands, this time of year they make up for it by bursting into resplendent color. The hardwoods become orange, red, yellow, and a rusty brown that adds a happy note to the changing of the seasons.

The views shout a message to me: we must honor, savor, and save the trees not just appreciate their beauty on an occasional Sunday drive. Clair Dubois says it eloquently in the quotation below. She founded an international organization treesisters.org to save the trees. It is one of many ways you can support this critical need to reforest our world. Please enjoy her words, allow them to take you into a place of gratitude, and then consider taking action to replenish the trees.
