Tarot Card for the Month

A wonderful weekend of celebrating Brigid and being fortified by her message to bring fire and water in balance and to balance the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine within us. Our card for the month continues that message.

The card is Strength from the Major Arcana as interpreted by Kristoffer Hughes and illustrated by Chris Down in The Branches of Celtic Tarot

In his words: “However emotive or crazy the situation may seem or feel, do not be carried away by knee-jerk reactions. Do not lash out without first being at peace with the situation and yourself.”

What could be better words of wisdom at this time than that!

Note the  dragon accompanying the beautiful feminine presence in a field of daisies. Strength here is not depicted as the courage of a roaring  lion as often depicted, but rather that of the dragon who lies ready and waiting to carry forth action with a strong, calm woman/ goddess.

The dragon has been tamed. Truth, sovereignty, and grounding prevail. Inner strength directs the fire of action into right action. Fire then becomes the source of transformation and transmutation rather than destruction.

The Feminine force stands between the world of action and deep truth.

Our task is to be strong to embody truth and sovereignty and to meet the future we want with love, compassion and fairness.

Learning to act not from fear but from love is the challenge of the ages. It is true strength.
