June Tarot Card
Our tarot card for June is the Nine of Swords. It is drawn from the Knight-Waite Deck, a new deck designed by Michele Knight, a well-known British Astrologer who has brought modern images and references to the classic tarot. Interestingly, she has chosen to leave the NIne of Swords image stark, simple and like the original but has added a woman in despair.
The Nine of Swords has the heaviest energy of all the cards as it acknowledges anxiety, fears, mental strain, and internal struggles of the mind. When restlessness, sleeplessness, and worry abound, we are asked to confront what is troubling us and encouraged to look deeply into the causes and search for remedies.
Five minutes with the news these days can be troublesome and many face personal/family challenges right now, The Nine of Swords may shock us into seeing how important it is to confront our fears and put our personal well-being front and center. As the flight attendant advises, place your own mask on first. Self-care is critically important.
So, if the Nine of Swords speaks to you this month:
Unplug from the constant bombardment of media,
Find time to walk in nature,
Surface and release the negative thoughts that trouble you, through meditation and prayer,
Seek out love, light and laughter.
Journal.
Swim, walk, play sports to release bodily tensions that hold stress.
These are simple remedies but can seem hard to implement.
May you use the light of the sun, the warmth of the summer breezes and the intoxicating smells of your garden, park or woods to remind you that “All will be well”.
